Starlight Children's Foundation needs your help with a special "Great Escapes/Christmas in July" Party at Chaparral Ice Centers. We need some extra hands to help kids ice skate, pass out gifts and refreshments, and most importantly, get in a Texas size snowball fight with our kids!

About Great Escapes When a child is seriously ill, everyone in the family is affected. The Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation helps seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family events. Starlight Starbright programs have been proven to distract children from their pain, help them better understand and manage their illnesses, and connect families with others facing similar challenges so that they never feel alone.
Starlight Starbright created the Great Escapes program to provide families with the chance to spend quality time together -- away from the hospital and medical treatments -- so that they can relax, regroup, and return home with a new-found sense of strength and hope. Another benefit of the Great Escapes program is that everyone in the family is able to meet others who are facing similar challenges, reducing their feelings of isolation that families with seriously ill children often face. Outings include ball games, picnics, cruises, spa days and movie premiers. Great Escapes is one of the organization's most popular programs, which Starlight Starbright is currently expanding. We currently offer Great Escapes in 6 cities in Texas with plans to expand to even more cities in the coming years.
